To indicate their heavenly origins, the three men are traditionally depicted as winged angels. The ancient Fathers of the Church saw in the three visitors a symbolic revelation of the Holy Trinity. On both sides of the three Angels Abraham and Sarah and in front a servant killing a calf for a banquet.
